Gifted Minolta SRT-101
A technologically-advanced camera made in the late 60s
I‘m the go-to guy for vintage cameras — people trust me to give them a good home. Recently, I received a Minolta SRT-101 that needed some TLC. After putting a battery in, I was pleased to find the light meter still works. A bit of polishing brought it back to life, and I’m excited to run a roll of film through it. What’s particularly cool is that it fits perfectly into the legacy of Sony cameras and is on brand.
The SRT-101, manufactured in the late ’60s, featured an advanced Contrast Light Compensation system. This system metered both the sky and the ground providing an average exposure instead of just spot metering. Advanced tech at the time.
